Why Safe Space?
Our group practice is called Safe Space because healing, change and personal growth can only truly happen where people do feel safe. In a world that is often loud and overwhelming, every person needs a place where they are allowed to just simply be. A space that offers safety – emotionally, physically and mentally. A Safe Space.
But Safe Space is more than a protected environment; it is also an inherent state of mind. We meet people with respect, sensitivity and empathy, regardless of where they are in their lives. We want to provide a place of acceptance, openness and trust, where every person can feel seen, heard and understood.
We believe that every person deserves a space where they can feel safe andconfident to unfold - at their own pace and in their own way - and this is exactly what we want to provide at Safe Space.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space lies our power to choose our response. In our response lie our growth and our freedom.

Association Safe Space
Association for the Support of Relatives of People with Mental Illness
Safe Space Vienna is a non-profit association founded as a central point of contact for relatives of people with mental illnesses – a place for support, education and exchange.
We are committed to destigmatizing mental illness and promoting networking among affected family members. A particular focus for us is the preservation and strengthening of the mental health of the relatives themselves.
Through workshops, self-help groups, lectures and individual counseling services, we aim to empower and relieve relatives. We help them activate their own resources and resilience – because only people who receive support themselves can effectively support others.
For urgent matters, we provide a telephone hotline for immeadiate assistance where you can quickly receive support and information on where to get help.
Mental illnesses affect not only the individuals who are ill but also their entire social environment. Relatives often face emotional, societal and organizational challenges and need support in coping with different issues.
Safe Space Vienna provides a place for relatives where they receive information and education about mental illness, where they are being tought how to navigate through challenging times with their loved ones and exchange experiences with other affected family members.
Safe Space Vienna – because no one should have to face difficult situations alone.
